The Ontario Children's Advocacy Coalition is doing an online solidarity campaign for Children and Youth in Care Day. They are asking your network of individuals and entities to share this post (https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2224651997849513&id=2118286321819415) and location-check-in to the Ontario Children's Advocacy Coalition and answer one of the prompts (basically saying why you support children and young people in and from the child welfare system). Each check-in is another person standing in solidarity with at-potential children of Ontario.
They hope that people will also like the page and share post widely (when folks share the post, they usually tag their network into the post much like adding location into the post.

Earlier this year we contacted the folks at CYC-Net to try to get some history about CYC Week. Thom and Brian did some searching through the archives and after much searching and reading they shared with me some interesting news.
Back in 2000 they did some research to find out when International Child and Youth Care Workers' Day was celebrated. They had a difficult time establishing one specific day but they were able to narrow it down to the first week of May. With so many of us working shifts and putting the children, youth and families we work with as our first priority, we are not always able to celebrate our work on the same day.
Since then we have been celebrating International Child and Youth Worker Week the first full week of May.
This year marks the 15th year! We think that is pretty special. So please let us know how you are celebrating our most amazing profession.

Every year we take the time to recognize the unique work, contributions and dedication of those in the child and youth care field. We hope that you have the opportunity to celebrate together, celebrate each other and share information about the profession with other professionals in your communities.
The US-based Thank a Youth Worker Day organization has joined in our celebrations. You can find more information about them at Thank a Youth Worker Day. They write as follows:
We would like to offer you an invitation to participate, again, or for the first time, in an international effort to thank those in the child and youth care field. This year with new partnerships, Thank a Youth Worker Day is moving to be part of an international week of recognition in the field of child and youth care work. The International Child and Youth Care Week is the first week of May, and as part of this week, Thank a Youth Worker Day will be celebrated in the USA this year on May 8.
It is easy to participate! Say thank you to a colleague in the field, tell others about child and youth care practice, share a coffee or host an event or celebration.
Have something planned and want to share? CYC-Net wants to know! Email: info@CYC-net.org to arrange to send some news and pictures of your local celebration so that they may share it more widely on their site.
